Emergency Room Registered Nurse $2250/Week
Location: Bakersfield, California
Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shifts x 3 (36 hours/week)

Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a travel assignment in Bakersfield, California. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced emergency department providing high-quality care to patients with a wide range of acute and emergent conditions.
Position Summary
The Emergency Room RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the emergency department. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, experience managing high-acuity patients, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic clinical environment. This role requires proficiency with both Epic electronic medical record systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage activities.
- Provide emergency nursing care for patients experiencing acute illness, injury, or trauma.
- Administer medications, treatments, and moderate sedation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Monitor patient responses and communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to coordinate care.
- Accurately document patient care using Epic and Cerner electronic medical record systems.
- Maintain compliance with hospital, state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- Moderate Sedation training and competency.
- Minimum six (6) months of Epic experience within the past twelve (12) months.

Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
- Previous Emergency Department experience in an acute care hospital setting.
